Lo show si apre con Josh Matthews intervista Randy Orton parlando del match contro Christian a Money in the Bank. Christian appare sul grande schermo e inizia a insultare il padre di Orton (Cowboy Bob Orton).

Ezekiel Jackson batte Ted DiBiase in un match per il titolo Intercontinentale.

Dietro le quinte segmento con Ted DiBiase. Cody Rhodes entra e gli porge una busta di carta marrone. Cody darà una possibilità in più a Ted, prima che lui lo umigli sul ring.

Cody Rhodes batte Daniel Bryan

Teddy Long annuncia che se Big Show e Mark Henry si toccheranno stasera durante il loro faccia a faccia, l'incontro in PPV verrà annullato.

Qualcuno ha dipinto di vernice spray l'autobus di Randy Orton nel parcheggio del backstage. I graffiti sono insulti a Teddy Long e a Orton. Christian si avvicina alla scena e si comporta come se fosse sorpreso.

Sin Cara sconfigge Sheamus. Dopo il match, Wade Barrett arriva dal backstage e di cui Sheamus fuori.

Justin Gabriel batte Heath Slater con la 450.

Kane batte Randy Orton nel main event via count out. Orton ha subito l'interferenza di Christian a bordo ring. Orton scacciato Christian ma viene contato fuori perdendo. Dopo il match, Orton ha colpito con l'RKO Kane, ma è stato colpito da una spear di Christian. Christian prende una sedia ma Orton è lesto a sottrargliela. Orton colpisce Kane con la sedia mentre Christian scappa su per la rampa, verso il backstage.

SmackDown si apre con un segmento con protagonisti Randy Orton, Christian e Teddy Long. Long afferma che Orton avrà la sua rivincita ma non questa sera, per la serata sarà impegnato contro Kane in uno street fight match mentre Christian sarà impegnato subito nel prossimo match contro Ezekiel Jackson.

Il campione del mondo Christian battere Intercontinental Champion Ezekiel Jackson con la Killswitch

Michael Cole è sul ring e invita Mr. Money in the banck di SmackDown, Daniel Bryan. Brian lo raggiunge mentre Cole lo punzecchia al microfono. Bryan dice che non importa quello che pensa Cole. Bryan parla del sacrificio fisico che ha fatto per arrivare alla WWE. Bryan dice che sta per essere il primo campione ad annunciare quando ha intenzione di incassare la valigetta prima di farlo (mai sentito parlare di Rob Van Dam?). Egli annuncia che incasserà il 1 aprile a Miami a WrestleMania e realizzerà il sogno della sua vita (come annunciò Mr.Kennedy\Anderson). Esce Heath Slater che esegue un promo heel prima dell'inizio del loro match.

Daniel Bryan batte Heath Slater con una mossa sottomissione (non la LaBelle lock).

Matt Striker intervista nel backstage Mark Henry. Mark Henry dice di non avere rimpianti e che tutti dovrebbero temerlo.

Wade Barrett vs Sheamus termina per doppio conteggio fuori. I due hanno continuato la rissa dopo il match e alla fine sono finiti per tornare sul ring dove Barrett ha subito il Brogue kick.


Promo di Kane che diche che userà Randy Orton per uccidere la sua umanità e di essere di nuovo un mostro.

Randy Orton batte Kane dopo una RKO su una sedia. Dopo il match Kane ha offerto la sua mano a Randy che la stringe. Kane sembrava devastato dalla sconfitta.

Mark Henry è uscito dal backstage e ha attaccato Kane, facendo la stessa manovra alla caviglia subita da Big Show a MITB.

Big pop for Booker T and lots of heat for Michael Cole when the commentators were introduced. Smackdown opened with Triple H making his entrance. He cut a promo on the state of the World Heavyweight Championship. Christian interrupted and talked about how Teddy Long has tried to run Smackdown into the ground. Hunter said that interrupting him is like slapping him in the face.

Triple H announced Christian vs. Randy Orton in a No Holds Barred Match for SummerSlam.

R-Truth came out and said he was there to continue what they started on Raw. He talked of the conspiracy against him. Triple H announced R-Truth vs Randy Orton for Smackdown, and also announced that Christian vs. John Morrison was up next.

Backstage, Triple H and Teddy Long were interrupted by Zack Ryder. Hunter announced that Ryder will be Long's new assistant.

1. Christian defeated John Morrison. Christian really played up the heel antics. Morrison looked great in his return match, according to Wesley. There was a botched reversal at one point that looked bad. In the end, Morrison executed a backdrop off the top rope and tried unsuccessfully to follow up with Starship Pain. Christian hit the Killswitch and got the win. Jim labeled it an "excellent TV match."

Wade Barrett cut a promo regarding Daniel Bryan. Bryan interrupted only to take a cheap shot from Barrett. Bryan countered and made Barrett tap to the LeBell Lock.

Ryder and Long were shown backstage with Mark Henry. Ryder said he would find Henry an opponent. Henry said Long better thank his assistant.

The Nexus vs. The Uso Brothers was advertised for later in the show.

2. Alicia Fox, Rosa Mendes, and Melina defeated Natalya, AJ, and Kaitlyn. AJ has improved, according to Wesley. Fox hit her axe kick on Kaitlyn and got the pin.

There was a Justin Gabriel video that showed him at home in South Africa.

3. Mark Henry beat Bobby Heller. Heller is a local wrestler from the Philly area. Henry destroyed him in a squash with two World Strongest Slams and a killer backbreaker.

Henry grabbed a chair, but Teddy Long stopped him from using it by saying he had a lawsuit pending and no one wants to fight him. Sheamus mades his entrance and said he will fight Henry. Sheamus slapped Henry and then tossed him out of the ring. Sheamus grabbed a chair and Henry retreated.

4. Michael McGillicutty and David Otunga defeated The Uso Brothers to retain the WWE Tag Titles. The Uso Brothers did their tribal dance to no reaction whatsoever. New Nexus came out to Justin Gabriel's theme song. Weird. The Uso Brothers showed a lot of energy and worked in some double team moves. However, McGillicutty hit his neckbreaker to get the win for his team.

Backstage, Ryder booked Ezekiel Jackson in a handicap match against Ted DiBiase and Cody Rhodes.

Another pointless Johnny Curtis vignette was shown. Wesley said there have been consistent C.M. Punk chants throughout the show.

R-Truth was interviewed backstage by Matt Striker. He said he's going to swoop down like a bunch of eagles on a snake when he faces Orton. Wesley labeled it a great promo.

5. Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase beat Ezekiel Jackson in a handicap match. Decent heat for the heels. The paper bag men were out for the crowd. DiBiase started and was getting destroyed. He tagged Cody, who tagged back to Ted. DiBiase applied a sleeper. Zeke picked him up with one arm. Zeke had Cody in the Torture Rack, but Ted broke it up and Cody hit CrossRhodes for the win.

Jinder Mahal and The Great Khali cut a promo from a luxury suite. It was hard to make out what was said since there was great heat and USA chants.

6. R-Truth beat Randy Orton by DQ. Truth came out to a little heat, while Orton got the thunderous ovation. R-Truth received "sucks" chants and sold it by looking pissed. Truth got in a lot of offense and some near falls. Orton came back and then Christian came out. Randy hits a DDT off the ropes and struck the Viper's Pose.

Truth saw the RKO coming and dipped out of ring. Christian distracted Orton. Truth got his water bottle and hit Orton with it. Orton mocked Truth and drank water. He followed up with a Thesz Press and punches. Orton hit Truth with a chair for a DQ. Christian ran to the stage. Orton hit a pair of RKO's on Truth on the announcers' table to big pops.

Dark Match

1. Christian defeated Randy Orton in a Street Fight to retain the World Hvt. Championship. Teddy Long's music played for roughly five minutes after the previous match before Zack Ryder finally came out and set up the dark match. Christian said Philly does not deserve a Street Fight for the World Heavyweight Championship.

Christian said he hasn't met one tough person from Philly and he said they will not see a RKO on him tonight. Great heel work by Christian. The Crowd ate it up. In the end, Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase came out and distracted Orton, and Christian rolled up Randy for the pin. Orton hit RKO's on everyone to close the show.

WWE Smackdown - Tapings del 05/08/11

Lo show comincia con l'annuncio di un match tra Sheamus e Great Khali, che si terrà stasera a Smackdown, e di un match tra Sheamus e Mark Henry a Summerslam.

Sheamus batte Great Khali via Brogue Kick.

Natalya batte A.J. via Sharpshooter. A fine match Natalya attacca A.J., fuori dal ring. "Beth Phoenix, sono con te. I giorni delle Divas carine sono finiti", afferma poi Natalya.

Daniel Bryan batte Tyson Kidd via sottomissione. Durante il match, Wade Barrett era al commento. Nuova theme song per Daniel Bryan.

Randy Orton viene intervistato nel backstage. Orton afferma che sa benissimo che lui ha dei problemi nel gestire la sua rabbia, ma va bene così, perchè a Summerslam Christian gli offrirà l'opportunità di lavorare su questo problema, quando lo punirà per diventare il nuovo World Champion.

Zack Ryder arriva sul ring per parlare al pubblico. Ezekiel Jackson raggiunge quindi Ryder sul ring, chiedendogli il perchè della sua decisione di farlo competere in un handicap match, la scorsa settimana. Anche Cody Rhodes e Ted Di Biase arrivano sul ring. Ryder tenta di annunciare un match tra Jackson e Di Biase, ma Teddy Long arriva sullo stage e dice a Ryder che sarà lui a competere in un match contro Ezekiel Jackson, con Cody Rhodes e Ted Di Biase bannati da bordo ring.

Ezekiel Jackson batte Zack Ryder in un non-title match.

Nel backstage, Teddy Long viene sedotto da Aksana, concorrente della 3° stagione di NXT.

Mark Henry batte Vladimir Kozlov. Dopo il match, Henry continua ad infierire sulla gamba di Kozlov, ma arriva sul ring Sheamus che gli impedisce di arrecare altro danno al lottatore russo. Kozlov viene quindi portato via su una barella.

Sheamus viene intervistato nel backstage, in vista del suo match contro Mark Henry a Summerslam.

Michael McGillicutty, David Otunga & JTG battono The Usos & Trent Barreta in un six-man tag match.

Viene mostrato un nuovo video con Johnny Curtis, il quale annuncia che debutterà a Smackdown la prossima settimana.

Christian viene intervistato nel backstage, riguardo al suo match contro Randy Orton a Summerslam. Viene quindi interrotto da R-Truth, che comincia a parlare della cospirazione ai suoi danni.

Christian & R-Truth battono Randy Orton & John Morrison, con Christian che effettua lo schienamento vincente su Orton.

Dicono che il match tra Sheamus e Khalì sia stato abbastanza piacevole
Ragion per cui sono molto curiosa di vederlo.

Triple H came out and set up Ezekiel Jackson vs. Cody Rhodes for the Intercontinental Title, Alberto Del Rio vs. Daniel Bryan, and Great Khali vs. Randy Orton. Christian came out to speak to Hunter.

Christian threatened that Hunter needed to change his SummerSlam match against Randy Orton or he would sue. Hunter told him he has no respect as the World Hvt. Champion, so the match is still on.

1. Sheamus beat Christian by countout. Christian wanted no part of Sheamus, so he got himself intentionally counted out while standing on the top of the entrance ramp.

2. Beth Phoenix and Natalya defeated Kaitlyn and A.J. Beth Phoenix pinned A.J. to get the win for her team. Natalya put Kaitlyn in the Sharpshooter. The crowd cheered for Natalya and Beth.

There was a backstage segment with Teddy Long, Zack Ryder, Cody Rhodes, Ted DiBiase, and Aksana.

There was also a segment with Mark Henry and Johnny Curtis backstage. They will meet later in the show.

3. Sin Cara defeated Tyson Kidd. Mike said it didn't seem like anyone knew the difference between this Sin Cara and the real Sin Cara, assuming they used someone else under the mask because the real Sin Cara is suspended.

4. Alberto Del Rio vs. Daniel Bryan is in progress. Sacramento has a big Hispanic population and cheered for Sin Cara in the previous match and even Ricardo Rodriguez before this match. Bryan missed a top rope move. Del Rio got the win via submission. Wade Barrett attacked Bryan after the match.

5. Cody Rhodes defeated Ezekiel Jackson to win the Intercontinental Title. It appeared Dylan Drake of AllProWrestling.com was passing out the paper bags at ringside. Cody got the win with CrossRhodes to become the new champion. I smell a rematch at SummerSlam.

Backstage, Randy Orton said he will unleash his anger at SummerSlam. He then discussed his match against Great Khali.

6. Mark Henry beat Johnny Curtis. Sheamus came out to stop "Shamu" and wanted him to take on the great white tonight instead of at SummerSlam.

7. Randy Orton beat The Great Khali. Orton hit the RKO on Khali for the pin. Christian came out afterward and said he's the best thing going.

Si saranno guardati gli highlights del match tra Hart e Michaels di lunedì. Poi si sono girati ed hanno visto Jackson.
